Plymouth Arena Community Events (PACE) are excited to announce the first major Weekend Spectacular and explained that more are likely to be announced in the coming weeks and early in 2021.

PACE Co Director Ian Jordan explained:

We are delighted firstly to announce that we have appointed Rod Hart as our Main Events Coordinator.

Rod is an experienced and well known Military Historian and an expert in organising and staging Shows of this and other types; and is very well respected in the Show and Military re-enactment World, having organised and staged Shows at various locations in the UK over more than two decades.

He will be an invaluable asset to us and is keen to help Managing Director Mark (Phillips) and myself to turn The Coliseum in to a multi-event Community and Performance Facility that the City and Devon / Cornwall and the whole of the South West can be proud of.

We plan to stage a number of two-day Events in the summer of 2021 that will dove-tail and compliment the Arena, and fit around the current main Stadium Sports of Speedway and Soccer.

We hope to be in a position to announce 3 or 4 more Events of this type that will fill dates from May to September, over the coming weeks and months.

We have some exciting plans and projects being discussed covering various genres, one of which would be ground-breaking; and we also planning to stage regular Craft and themed Fairs that we will be announcing in the New Year.

The Coliseum (formerly St Boniface Arena) has been a well-known Speedway Stadium for many years and we remain totally committed to Speedway and The Gladiators, but our avowed intention is to turn the Complex in to an Arena that stages Speedway amongst a host of other Events, as opposed to a Speedway Track that stages a few other things.

This will be the best way to secure the future of Speedway in Plymouth and to develop that brand.

We have the benefit of a Stadium that can hold several thousand people with around 1000 seated with existing and excellent Lighting, PA, and Electrical and off-grid Power options. We have excellent Customer Food and Drink outlets and are Fully Licensed with a very modern Changing Room for performance and performance Arts with Hot and Cold Showers and excellent Toilet facilities around the Site.

The actual Stadium Complex is augmented by an Arena that includes a space bigger than a full sized soccer pitch, which is tree-lined giving a real Rural feel so close to the City Centre.

We believe that there is a niche locally and further afield for a medium sized Events location that is both accessible to the Public and very affordable to small and local Enterprises and Entrepreneurs who want to showcase their Goods and talents.

We are keen to hear from anyone who may wish to utilise and plan an Event at an ideal location close to the City Centre, with local and on-site Parking and adjacent to the main Ring and Ride and Bus Services at the Coypool Park and Ride Facility. We are ideally located close to the main A38 Trunk Road, the main route in the area linking Devon and Cornwall and the M5 and other A Road corridors.
